Two Decades of Cross-Sector Leadership
Dr. Grass has led a public children’s services agency with an annual budget exceeding $60 million, overseen major investments in community-based organizations, and directed statewide work in policy, funding, and program quality. Her experience spans program evaluation, public-private partnerships, and organizational strategy focused on measurable results.
Her national expert witness and legal consulting practice focuses on child- and youth-serving organizations, including institutional responsibility, supervision, mandated reporting, and standards of care. She brings an executive and analytical perspective grounded in decades of experience with organizational performance, policy, and accountability.
A Career Rooted in Community and Purpose
Dr. Grass continues to volunteer as a Guardian ad Litem for children in foster care, a commitment that reflects the same values that have shaped her professional path. She has served in state and community leadership roles across child welfare, early learning, afterschool programming, and youth development, staying close to the work even as her career has grown in scope.
Her perspective was shaped in part by a study-abroad experience in Costa Rica during her doctorate, where living with local families reinforced a core belief she carries into every engagement: different communities solve problems differently, and good consulting starts with listening before advising. That outlook drives her current focus on helping nonprofits define, measure, and communicate outcomes that actually matter to the people they serve.
